About Will Foerster
Will Foerster (B. 2003) is a NYC-based photographer who works exclusively in black and white. An academic of both the history of photography and art history, Foerster’s work strongly references classical photography and its processes.
I am drawn to photograph the surreal, the powerful, and the elegant, and am driven by a passion for showcasing the strength and confidence of each person I photograph. My work is a celebration of this individuality and strength, blending what I find so fascinating about people with modern sophistication and a stark, minimal, monochrome aesthetic.
Fashion and contemporary art profoundly influence my work, guiding my choices in styling, composition, and visual storytelling. Through this integration, I aim to create imagery that is not only visually powerful and blatantly contemporary, but elegant and timeless.
